Hey Everyone! Hows your weekend going! Here are my answers to the taming of the shrew video!
1) I think the director interpreted the actions well because there was a good flow from scene to scene without being confusing ( is that how you spell confusing?).
2) One thing the actress that played kate did well was running around in that dress without falling over (just jokes). But I thought that the way how she portrayed kate was exellent. she made Kate seem independent.
3) One thing that the director did poorly was when Kate and Petruchio fell through the roof he did soom funny camera angles.
And being the nerd I am iwent on that quiz site and its acctually pretty cool! wow this is a long message!

i haf answers!! yay!!
1.i think that the director did quite a good job of portraying the characters as they seemed quite alike to those in the play
2.The actors did quite a good job of speaking the shakespearian english as i would think it would be quite difficult!!
3. one thing which wasn't so good was the actual acting. they seemed to be overplaying the characters making it seem almost mocking and quite fake!!

Hello .. Got ma answerz 4 yah.

1. I think the director did a good job, and he potrayed Katherina and Petruchio really well because she was exageraated as trying to get away froom him, wich was good and he did a good job with Petruchio because you could tell he was in it for something and in a way taking the mock out of Katherina

2. He showed the relationship between Katherina and Petruchio really well and you could tell what they thaught of each other because of the way they acted it out

3. I think the director over did it a bit with the whole running away on the roof and braking the staircase thing and when petruchio was swinging on the thing , the acting was a bit to exagerrated

ANSWERs !

1.i believe that the director of the play did quite well by making the characters look as they would have in the play. By the way they dressed, their shakespearian english, and their personalities.
2.The actors did quite a good job of making you believe that, well, the clip was actually made in that time, if you know what i saying ? like, they are actually from that time era.
3.the acting was quite lame ? like, very forced, and prominent, like it would be in those days..maybe ?

Here are my answers:

1)I think the director interpreted the actions kinda average because I think they actors moved around to much,where in the book/play the probly would have been more conservitive(is that how you spell it) of their movements.

2)I think one thing the director did well was the setting , It really looks like olden day and stuff =]

3)One thing the direcor did poorly was hiring thoose actors,or making them act so weird! It was very forced and not really flowing or anything...unless thats how its meant to be? But yeah didnt like the acting.

Hi everyone
to clarify the homework for those who do not understand: Click on the taming of the shrew page. Do the quiz and keep your score to tell me in class.
then go to the video. Above the video are 3 questions which you need to answer. You write the answer in the class blog so that everyone else can view your thoughts and agree or disagree with you.
e.g. I think one of the things the director did not do well is show Petruchio swinging on a beam. I don't like it because he seems to be more wild and silly than Kate does whereas when I read the book, Petruchio seems to be rather eccentric but not that desperate. Does anyone agree with me?

I don't mind a bit of text language and some social chitchat, but remember that you need to answer the questions, and when you do you need to formulate your thoughts as accurately and grammatically correctly as possible.

Answers:
1. Im kind of half and half with this one (yes i know how that sounds) the set was quite good even though it was a bit too fake looking but i think when Petruchio is swinging on that thing he should have been a bit more graceful
2. I think the actors did a good job making Shakespearian english sound natural. And they said the dodgy bits like 'what with my tongue in your tail?' without laughing
3. The acting wasnt too great. It was overdone and a bit silly..

i find that shakespears work is amazing, he did not have the slightest clue what-so-ever of who would read it and who would judge him. did you know that Hydroxydesoxycorticosterone and hydroxydeoxycorticosterones are the largest anagrams.

and that If you toss a penny 10000 times, it will not be heads 5000 times, but more like 4950. The heads picture weighs more, so it ends up on the bottom

Here are my answers...
1. I think the director interpreted the characters well, because it was a lot the book. And you could also tell that Petruchio was in for something like you can in the play.

2.I think that director did well on changing from scene to scene because it wasn't confusing.

3. I think that the setting was a bit overdone - it all looked too fake. The lady acting as kate was a bit over the top.

Hey... heres my answers to the questions..

1. Yes, they did portray the characters quite well. Kate was very rough and rude and Petruchio was very pushy and set in his ideas about marrying kate.

2. Good Thing - They made it easy to understand, by saying their lines and stuff well and making it easier to understand, even though it is in Shakespearian.

3. Not so good thing - They really over-acted the whole thing. It was really over the top and over dramatic.

Great - this is looking good participation-wise :)

Most of you have mentioned that Elizabeth Taylor's acting seemed to be over the top.
Do you think Shakespeare would have agreed with that comment? Bear in mind that it was men doing the acting of women.
